Baked Chocolate Donuts Recipe

This recipe makes 6 donuts.

Ingredients

1 cup flour
1/3 cup cocoa powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 cup buttermilk
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 egg
3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1/4 cup chocolate chips

For frosting:
1/2 cup chocolate chips
1 tablespoon butter
2 teaspoons corn syrup
1/4 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Grease donut pans.

2. In medium bowl mix together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.

3. In another medium bowl mix together buttermilk, brown sugar, egg, melted butter and vanilla extract.

4. Stir dry ingredients into wet and mix until smooth.

5. Fold in chocolate chips.

6. Using gallon sized ziplock bag, put chocolate mixture into bag. Push out air and seal bag closed. Snip off tip of bag and pipe into pan each donut 1/2 full.

7. Bake for 10-11 minutes or until toothpick inserted comes out clean.

8. Remove pan from oven, allow to cool about 5 minutes and then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

9. To make frosting put all ingredients into a bowl and microwave until melted. Stir.

10. To frost donuts, swirl them into frosting. Top with your topping of choice. I used toasted coconut and chopped chocolate chips.

11. Enjoy!
